Nik Bartsch'S Ronin
Description:
This is the first album by the exciting Swiss band Nick Bertsche's Ronin in two years since their 2008 album "Holon" (released in 2010). The leader of the band, Nick Bertsche, has lived in Japan for some time, and his early music has been described as "Zen Funk," but this album is more open, free, and less formal, with Nick Bertsche's compositions and individual improvisations, and the production is not distinguished even by the composer himself, The band's performance has stepped up to the next stage, so much so that even the composer himself cannot distinguish between Nick Bertsche's compositions and the individual improvisations and performances. The title "Llyria" refers to a creature found deep in the ocean. It is luminous, agile even under strong water pressure, and floats coolly and gracefully, but its details are not yet known. Bertsche himself says, "We make music as if we are constantly casting our nets into the same ocean, but sometimes we discover something that makes us wonder, 'What is this? Sometimes we make discoveries like, "What is this? Llyria" is a metaphor for his music.
