Description:
American Express, formed in 1979, changed its name when it signed with Chrysalis. This memorable debut album was produced with Bill Chenay, known as the producer of Boz Scaggs and Pablo Cruz. Many of the songs have since become staples on stage, and "Trouble in Paradise" was performed again in "We Are the World" by USA for Africa. Although it was a modest achievement at the time of its release, it is a high-quality work that foreshadows the great success it would later achieve.
