The Charleston, S.C. Cathedral of St. John and St. Finbar, also known as the Cathedral Church of St. John the Baptist and St. Finbar, is a historic Roman Catholic cathedral located in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. Constructed between 1845 and 1853, it is one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture in the country. During the American Civil War, the Cathedral served as a hospital for Confederate soldiers, with some burials taking place on the church grounds. Today, it stands as an active parish and significant landmark in Charleston's historic district.
